Lodges

In Hong Kong all seven Lodges that are warranted to meet under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of Ireland are represented by the Provincial Grand Lodge of the Far East. This Provincial Grand Lodge was petitioned for in 1988, and prior to this all Irish Lodges in Hong Kong came under the Inspectorate District of the Far East.

Lodge Erin No. 463 was warranted in 1919 to meet in Shanghai, became dormant during the Pacific War and was transferred to Hong Kong in 1952. Shamrock Lodge No. 712 was the first Irish Lodge to meet in Hong Kong and was warranted in 1947. Emerald Lodge of Hong Kong No. 883 was warranted in 1981. All of these Lodges meet at Zetland Hall, No.1 Kennedy Road.

Sino Lusitano Lodge of Macau No. 897 was warranted in 1988 and can meet either in Macau or Hong Kong, whilst Lodge St. David No. 903 was warranted in 1990 and follows a long tradition of Irish travelling Lodges and often travels to other countries in order to " work ".

Baden Powell Lodge No. 929 was warranted in 1995 and a temple was consecrated at the Scout Hall in Baden Powell House (the Scout Centre on Austin Road, Kowloon) for their meetings. The youngest Lodge in the Irish Province is the Lodge of Installed Masters No. 1001 which was warranted in 1998 to meet at Zetland Hall and is open to membership to all past and reigning Masters of Lodges from all three constitutions.
